Every month BIL members and friends select a different area to clean up. The BIL also participates in the Chesapeake Bay Assoc. Clean the Bay Day and the International Coastal Cleanup.

Community gardening improves people’s quality of life by providing a catalyst for neighborhood and community development, stimulating social interaction, encouraging self-reliance, beautifying neighborhoods, producing nutritious food, reducing family food budgets, conserving resources and creating opportunities for recreation, exercise, therapy and education.

Box Tops Program
The Buckroe Improvement League participates in the BoxTops for Education Program, to help earn money for John B. Cary Elementary School. Boxtops can be dropped off at a BIL meeting or at John B Cary Elementary School, 2009 Andrews Blvd., Hampton.
Or you can download the Box Tops app, and simply scan your store receipts to find participating products. The app will automatically credit your school’s Box Tops earnings online.
